Hardy Machine & Design has a 15,000 sq. ft. fully air-conditioned shop floor in Houston and an 11,000 sq. ft. shop floor in Kentucky, which allows us to provide you with a wide variety of precision machining services. These include:
Our Houston facility 6 CNC lathes and 6 manual lathes of various sizes. These lathes range from 12" chuck to 45" and the bed length also varies up to 120" long. This allows us to handle small pieces of less then ¼" diameter to 45" diameter sizes. One of the lathes is a Mazak Integrex, for complicated integrated lathe and mill work.
Our Kentucky facility has 4 CNC lathes and 3 manual lathes with an equivalent range of sizes.
Our Houston facility has two CNC horizontal mills, both with full 4-axis capabilities. The Daewoo H80 is a dual-pallet machine with 32"x32" tables. The Haas EC1600 has a single 64"x30" table for longer parts.
Our Kentucky facility has a Haas EC1600 as well.
Our Houston facility has 2 CNC vertical mills, a Haas VF5 and VF3. Both have full 4-axis capabilities.
Our Kentucky facility has a Haas VF7 with a 4th axis. The 80" bed length allows us to mill large plates, ball screws, and place multiple setups on a single table.
Each facility also has several bridgeport manual mills to handle any fixturing, prototyping, and simple jobs.
Each facility has a radial drill for making large holes.
We use GibbsCAM software to program our CNC machines through a variety of controllers and code languages.
The computerized precision balancer is used for high-speed rotor assemblies. These rotor assemblies have to be completely balanced for long term trouble free operation.
We can subcontract NDE inspection including radiographic, ultrasonic, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle testing. Our vendors are ASNT Level III certified inspectors.
At times, the machined or fabricated part requires surface finishing depending upon client requirements. We handle that work for the client to meet their requirements.
We act as project manager to supply you the complete assembly. This service includes material procurement and all the heat treating and testing requirements. The material purchased will have complete certification.
